The Opportunity:
South 8 needed to drive interest in its new LiGas®-filled cells in the automotive industry and beyond. It also needed to build marketplace and investor momentum by clearly differentiating its LiGas battery technology as a safe, high performance, temperature resilient and cost-effective alternative to traditional liquid and emerging solid–state electrolytes.
The Solution:
(W)right On Communications created branded digital, print and video content that clearly and easily explained LiGas and its benefits to South 8’s prospective customers and investors. The agency crafted a technology PR plan, drafted strategic messaging, generated media coverage and secured analyst briefings. We created an animation to show the liquefied gas electrolyte’s composition and also refreshed South 8’s website. We also produced content, submitted for various high-profile awards, managed the company’s LinkedIn page and designed its trade show presence, including trade show video, for the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC).
The Results:
Within just over a year, our PR program for this exciting breakthrough in battery technology produced:

- 2.8 million views of our press coverage
- Press event by the U.S. Department of Energy Deputy Secretary at South 8’s lab
